The Heersink School of Medicine’s financial wellness program is designed to equip our students with the skills they need to be successful financially. This program focuses on the ability to manage personal finance matters and it includes the knowledge of making appropriate decisions about finance, such as budgeting, loan repayment options, and saving.

The mission of the program is to ensure students feel confident and empowered about money matters with an assurance they will be able to pay back their student loans. In doing so, we work to provide students with the resources they need to make sound financial decisions while concentrating on their medical education. Medical Student Financial Services works to engage with students on a variety of topics to support financial literacy.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Cost of attendance
  • Federal loans
  • Private loans
  • Scholarships
  • Budgeting
  • Loan repayment
  • Debt management
  • Financial literacy
