The UAB Department of Radiology SOTO Award was created to support a pilot research study performed by a faculty member and a radiology trainee in a mentoring relationship. The topics can be wide ranging and can involve faculty members from another UAB department.

A short project application with an appended fully executed mentor/trainee agreement is required. Application dates are yearly. Funding is available to support one qualifying project yearly. Applications are reviewed for scientific quality, significance, relevance and potential to lead to additional major funding by a Radiology Department review committee.
