Why did you choose UAB?
I chose UAB for its exceptional pre-health programs and the abundance of opportunities to gain experience in the healthcare field. Not to mention, it’s conveniently close to home!
Why did you choose your major?
I’ve always been a fan of sports and have a strong passion for medicine, so I wanted a major that could combine both interests, and kinesiology was the perfect fit. I really enjoy learning about human anatomy and exercise science, so this major seemed like the perfect way to make my education both engaging and meaningful.
What is your favorite thing about the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences?
I love the sense of community within this school; everyone is so welcoming and supportive.
What class have you enjoyed the most so far at UAB?
PHL 116, Bioethics with Dr. Welch was the most thought-provoking class I have ever taken.
What piece of advice would you give a prospective SOEHS student?
The most valuable advice I can give to a prospective student is to get involved within the community as soon as possible. College is the perfect time to explore and discover the things that truly interest you. There are a number of organizations at UAB, so you are bound to find something that fits you well.
What are your plans after you graduate from UAB?
I plan to apply to medical school and become a physician.
