Why did you choose UAB?

I chose UAB because after being away from home from high school, I knew that it would allow me to be close to my family and start my education at a school that is known and highlighted for its prestige medical background which is what my primary goal and career path leads. UAB is the university where majority of my family attended, and I am grateful I get leave a mark while following in their footsteps!

Why did you choose your major?

Deciding on Kinesiology was not a simple path as I started with Biology then Biomedical Sciences. Neither of those majors truly aligned with my unique interests in medicine. Once I found Kinesiology, I knew that the courses appealed to my interests and would help further my knowledge while being flexible to my niche interests. Kinesiology is truly so much fun, it slows students to find their track and decide what they align with most in the process of gaining their degree.

What is your favorite thing about the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences?

My favorite thing is definitely the environment and friendly students in the school. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and willing to help, including the staff. Everyone has been flexible and truly interested in helping you achieve your goals! I feel loved and supported in this school!

What class have you enjoyed the most so far at UAB?

My favorite class so far has been motor development.

What piece of advice would you give a prospective SOEHS student?

For new or interested students I would say step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Do not allow yourself to be stuck in a box because there is so much more to explore that might appeal to you and change your perspective!

What are your plans after you graduate from UAB?

After graduation I plan to take a gap to gain more patient care hours before attending PA school!
