Recognizing Those Who Make UAB a More Supportive Community

The UAB Mental Health Champion Award celebrates students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and staff who are making a meaningful difference in advancing mental health and well-being across our campus community. Through their advocacy, leadership, and commitment to supporting others, these individuals help create a culture where mental health is valued, stigma is reduced, and every member of the UAB community can thrive.

The Mental Health Champion Award recognizes those who use their influence, actions, and voice to:

  • Promote mental health awareness
  • Reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges
  • Support the well-being of peers, colleagues, and students Inspire others to engage in mental health advocacy
  • Foster a healthier, more connected campus community


Who Can Be Nominated?

Nominations are welcomed in the following categories:

  • Undergraduate Students
  • Graduate and Professional Students
  • Postdoctoral Scholars
  • Faculty
  • Staff

Anyone in the UAB community may submit a nomination. Consider recognizing a colleague, classmate, mentor, supervisor, faculty member, staff member, or student whose commitment to mental health advocacy has made a positive impact on others.
