On a Saturday in spring 2017, more than 250 UAB students went Into the Streets. At Red Mountain Park (above and at top), students removed invasive plants clogging trails, opening new avenues for recreation and wildlife. -
INTO UAB celebrates first graduate
After completing his master’s degree in just three semesters, Kevin Wang will graduate Saturday, Aug. 12, as the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s first INTO UAB graduate. -

Miss UAB gives exceptional performance in the 2017 Miss Alabama Pageant
Miss UAB took home a $1,500 scholarship and a talent award for her exceptional performance in the 2017 Miss Alabama Pageant. 48 contestants competed for the title from June 7-10 at Samford University’s Wright Center, including six contestants who were current or former students of UAB. -

Miss UAB competes for Miss Alabama crown
It’s time to cheer on Miss UAB! Harley Chapin, the current Miss UAB, will compete in the 2017 Miss Alabama Pageant June 7-10 at the Wright Center at Samford University. The pageant will begin at 7 p.m. each night. All students, faculty, staff and friends of UAB are invited to support as she vies for the crown. -
