Injury Prevention

The trauma and burn professionals at UAB aren’t just passionate about saving lives – they also want to prevent injury before it happens. UAB offers the following evidence-based injury prevention programs across the state to schools, churches, senior centers, hospitals, and other groups upon request. Learn more by clicking below:

  • Stop the Bleed – Stop the Bleed is a national campaign from the American College of Surgeons to empower bystanders to stop bleeding and save lives.
  • Fall Prevention – Falls in the elderly population make up a significant percentage of UAB’s trauma cases. Our injury prevention professionals take evidence-based programs to local senior centers.
  • Burn Prevention – Our burn care team teaches essential burn prevention including fire safety, first aid for burns, how to prevent cooking-related burns, and more.
