NIH Program and Center Grants
NIH Program and Center grants are multiproject awards that support multidisciplinary approaches to a joint research effort focusing on a common research problem. Components of these grants may focus more heavily on research projects (e.g. P50s) or resources (e.g. P30s), may function in a synergistic manner, and may rely on sponsor involvement (e.g. U activity codes). Many of these funding opportunities are limited submissions, meaning the sponsor will only accept one application per institution, and require a "Letter of Intent" and/or sponsor preapproval three or more months before an application is submitted.
Eligibility & Types of Grants Available
NIH application codes align with applicant eligibility as a function of educational attainment and/or career stage. NIH Program and Center Grants (Ps and Us) typically support a wide-variety of research costs ranging from effort to other direct research costs (e.g. lab supplies, research-related service costs).
