Eligibility & Types of Grants Available
NIH application codes align with applicant eligibility as a function of educational attainment and/or career stage. Established investigators are eligible to apply for these grants. Then, trainees submit applications to the institutional program for adjudication (rather than to the NIH). Typically, these grants support the effort of multiple trainees or scholars and provide limited support for other direct research costs (e.g. lab supplies).
