Since 1983 the Miss UAB Scholarship Competition has been an official preliminary to the Miss Alabama and Miss America competitions. The program offers young women the opportunity to further their educational goals through scholarships and personal growth. Students involved in the Miss UAB Scholarship Program gain valuable experience and opportunities to enhance leadership and interviewing skills, talent, poise, and confidence. More than $4,600 in scholarships are awarded to the winner and alternates.
Miss UAB goes on to compete in the Miss Alabama Competition in June.

All interested students must participate in one of the interest meetings.

Requirements
Contestants will be required to register with Miss America, pay the Miss America $49.99 annual fee, complete the Miss UAB application, and submit supplemental paperwork.
All contestants interested in participating in the Miss UAB Scholarship Program
- Must be no older than 28 on September 30, 2026, and no younger than 18 on September 1, 2026.
- A full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UAB with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Must be a female
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must register for Miss America
