University Writing Center (UWC)
The UAB Writing Center assists students with all types of academic writing, at any stage in the writing process. The UWC offers both in-person and virtual appointments!
Heritage Hall Math Learning Lab
Located in Heritage Hall Room 202, the Math Learning Lab offers math tutoring to all UAB students Mon-Fri with no appointment needed!

Master Promissory Note & Entrance Loan Counseling
You must sign a Master Promissory Note and complete Entrance Counseling before you can receive loan funds from Federal Student Aid including Parent loans and PLUS loans.

UAB First Generation Student Success
First Generation Student Success creates environments and supports for first-generation college student success at UAB. First-generation initiatives include support, programs, and resources at UAB designed to foster a sense of belonging and remove barriers for students.
Student Engagement and Enrichment (SEE)
Student Engagement and Enrichment supports all students through mentorship, educational and social opportunities, and well-being initiatives. Their programming includes Free Food for Thought, The Blazer Mentorship Collective, and the Student Engagement and Enrichment Programming Board.

International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS)
ISSS provides immigration advising and programming to UAB’s international community and advocates for the unique needs of international students.

TRIO
TRIO programs support students who are low-income, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to facilitate their successful degree completion at UAB.

FYE Student Council
The First Year Experience Student Council (FYESC) consists of current freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior students who facilitate and host events geared toward igniting the Blazer Spirit within new UAB students. Joining the FYESC provides students with an opportunity for peer mentorship, event planning experience, and leadership development.
Office of Student Involvement & Leadership (SIL)
The Office of SIL advises student leaders and student organizations, creates innovative leadership opportunities, and promotes involvement in the UAB campus community. SIL offers involvement opportunities specifically for first-year students including Freshman Forum, the Freshman Leadership Experience, and First Impact programs.
