Voting will take place in an online format. Each candidate will have a bio and headshot for staff to review before submitting their vote. Elected representatives serve a two-year term starting in August of the election year. To learn more about our elections process, please see the

2024 Election Dates & Details
- April 1 – 15: Nominations open
 
- April 15 – 31: Candidate review and approval
 
- May 1 – 8: Elections open
 
- May 17: Election results announced (Previously May 14)
 
- August 2024: New term begins
 
Qualifications
- Have been employed as a staff member at UAB for at least 12 consecutive months (as of the date of nomination)
 
- Be in good standing with the University and their department
 
- Have supervisor approval for time commitment required for Staff Council activities
 
- Be prepared to represent all UAB staff in their unit
 
- Be willing to attend monthly meetings (1.5 hours on the last Wednesday of the month) and to take an active role in council orientation and committee activities
