UAB Veterans Day 5K
Register now for the third annual running of this event, starting at 8 a.m. Nov. 8 at Railroad Park. The UAB Veterans Day 5K is dedicated to honoring those who have served and supporting the next generation of military-connected students.
State of the University
President Ray Watts will highlight UAB accomplishments over the past year and opportunites for the future, from 10:30-noon, Nov. 13 at the Hill Center's Alumni Theater.
UAB closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 27, 28
There are no classes Nov. 24-30 during fall break, and university offices will close Nov. 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Compassion Closet opened in January 2023 to provide trauma and emergency patients at UAB with clothes when their own clothes have been cut off or ruined before or during care — so they do not have to go home in paper scrubs. It has helped thousands of patients since. See which items are needed most with winter approaching.
