Dr. MustianUAB Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery Assistant Professor Margaux Mustian, M.D., MSPH, participated in the Society for Surgery of Alimentary Tract (SSAT) Complex General Surgery Fellowship Virtual Grand Rounds Webinar.

The webinar was held as part of the grand rounds lecture series for the Complex General Surgery Fellowships. It featured several leaders in bariatric surgery, including Mark Kligman, M.D., director of the University of Maryland General Surgery Residency Program, and Annie Laurie Benzie, M.D., assistant professor at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

As the webinar focused on innovative bariatric surgery techniques, Mustian offered valuable insights in the presentation, sharing key observations gained from clinical practice and research performed at UAB.

In the past, Mustian has also been the recipient of the SSAT 2023 Health Care Disparities Research Award and was appointed to the SSAT Resident & Fellow Education Committee and the SSAT Research Committee.
