Each year, the UAB Service Awards celebrate the dedication of employees who have achieved service milestones of five years and beyond. Employees with 20-plus years of service were additionally recognized at a Service Awards reception on April 8. The Department of Radiology proudly celebrated two faculty members honored this year for their remarkable commitment to UAB- with 25 and 30 years of service.

Please join us in congratulating J. Kevin Smith, M.D., Ph.D., professor and vice chair of veterans affairs, on an outstanding 30 years of dedicated service.

"Wow, it’s hard to believe that it has been 30 years since I started,” Smith said. “When you do what you love with such a great team it goes by fast. Also getting to hang out with our great residents keeps me feeling young and on my toes, although sometimes they make me feel like I might not have gotten into the program if I had applied in the past few years".

We also extend our congratulations to Glenn Roberson, M.D., professor in the neuroradiology section, for an incredible 25 years of service.

We are fortunate to have such dedicated and accomplished faculty in our department and we look forward to many more years of working alongside them.
