Cheri L. Canon, M.D., FACR, FSAR, FAAWR, president, UA Health Services Foundation; chief physician executive, UAB Health System; professor emerita, UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Radiology, has been named the latest recipient of the American College of Radiology’s Radiology Leadership Institute® (RLI) Larry R. Muroff Luminary Award.
The Larry R. Muroff Luminary Award is the RLI’s highest honor, recognizing individuals whose lifelong commitment has advanced the fields of radiology and radiation oncology. It celebrates outstanding leadership, groundbreaking innovation, and a legacy of lasting contributions that continue to shape the profession.
“My time on the inaugural RLI Board was incredibly fulfilling, working alongside an extraordinary group of leaders, including my dear friend and mentor, Larry R. Muroff,” Canon said. “Larry was generous with his wisdom and genuinely invested in others’ growth. That is why receiving this award, recently renamed in honor of him, is so meaningful to me.”
