The UAB Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) welcomes Micah Sells as a prosthetic resident in our Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) Lab. This year-long prosthetic residency, allows Sells to build off the information learned in her master's program and allow her to perfect patient encounters.

Prior to joining our department, Sells received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN and a Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX.

“This residency program allows me to be involved throughout the whole patient interaction and fabrication process at a pace where I can establish independence over time. These opportunities will provide experience from the interdisciplinary team to learn the entire process an amputee goes through outside the prosthetic clinic,” says Sells.

The O&P team is glad to have Sells as a resident and looks forward to training her to be an excellent prosthetist.
