The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Pediatrics is pleased to welcome the new class of Pediatric Residents Interested in Medical Education Scholars Program (PRIME) Scholars! This program, available to pediatric and combined-pediatrics residents, brings together residents and faculty with a strong interest in medical education. PRIME Scholars meet monthly to explore new topics in teaching, discuss important medical education literature and develop their skills as educators. Through small group collaboration, scholars design and implement their own educational projects, gaining hands-on experience in med ed scholarship. Past projects have included initiatives such as a peer-to-peer feedback skill-building workshop, a resident peer mentorship program and simulation-based teaching sessions for fellow trainees.
