Angel Pine, communications intern for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery, was recently honored with four awards from the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) for her outstanding work in public relations.

Pine received the awards during a ceremony held April 4 in Tuscaloosa. PRCA, the state’s largest and longest-operating group for public relations professionals, recognizes excellence in communications efforts across Alabama.

Among the awards, Pine earned the Medallion Award—the highest honor presented by PRCA—for an independent project she developed for the UAB chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)/PRCA. Her project included the creation of a comprehensive welcome packet for the student organization, which supports new members and leaders.

Pine also received an Award of Excellence for a media kit she produced on behalf of a nonprofit organization, showcasing her versatility in campaign development.

Pine was also recognized with both the Judges’ Choice and another Medallion Award for her contributions to a multi-part campaign created for Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School. This project was developed as part of a group effort, reflecting her collaborative strengths and commitment to meaningful storytelling.

“These projects were fueled by passion, collaboration and a desire to create work that makes a lasting impact,” Pine said.
