The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery welcomes Brandy Carrichi, MBA, as operations administrator.
A Birmingham native, Carrichi recently returned to Alabama after spending the past 14 years in Georgia. She brings with her a strong background in healthcare operations and administration, shaped by years of leadership in behavioral health services.
Carrichi began her career in healthcare seven years ago at Turning Point Care Center, a behavioral health hospital in South Georgia. Starting as the communications and transportation manager, she quickly advanced through the ranks, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Master of Business Administration from Valdosta State University during that time.
Most recently, Carrichi served as the hospital’s director of operations, where she provided oversight for all operational departments, systems and staff across the main hospital and five additional locations. In this role, she also managed hospital contracts, led facility construction and renovation projects and collaborated with executive leadership to introduce new service lines aimed at expanding access and improving patient care.
Carrichi is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society and holds certifications in quality and safety from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, as well as emergency management credentials from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, watching documentaries, reading, exercising and spending time with her family.
