Craig Hoesley, M.D., senior associate dean for Medical Education and chair of the Department of Medical Education, has been named the inaugural Paul and Martha Burleson Endowed Chair in Medical Education.
Hoesley has served within the Heersink School of Medicine since 1999, becoming associate dean for undergraduate medical education in 2008 before taking on his current role of senior associate dean for Medical Education in 2015. He is a professor in the Departments of Medicine and Medical Education and a practicing infectious disease physician.
A dedicated leader in medical education, Dr. Hoesley is committed to strengthening the curriculum and support systems that shape physician training. He also prioritizes creating an exceptional student experience at the Heersink School of Medicine, aiming to inspire excellence, promote a supportive learning environment, and prepare graduates to meet the evolving needs of healthcare.
