The 2026 Educational Research & Innovations in Clinical & Health Sciences (ENRICH) Week will take place the week of Monday, September 14, 2026. ENRICH Week is held each year, providing a place for healthcare educators to grow their teaching skills, participate in curriculum innovation, and showcase their research in health education. On September 16, Diana McNeill, M.D., MAC will give the keynote address at noon in the UAB Hospital West Pavilion Atrium.
McNeill is the Associate Dean of Duke AHEAD (Academy for Health Professions Education and Academic Development). Duke AHEAD provides professional and research and innovation development for more than 1,000 of its faculty members, and in her role, McNeill oversees all programs within the academy.
After receiving an M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine and completing an Endocrinology and Metabolism Fellowship at Duke, she joined the school’s faculty and has built an academic and clinical career for more than 35 years. Today, she serves as a Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Throughout her career, she has specialized in endocrinology, focusing on Type 1 diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy, and thyroid disease. In 2023, in gratitude of the impact of her career, the family of one of her patients made an anonymous $5 million gift to the Duke University School of Medicine to establish the Lindquist Presidential Distinguished Chair Professorship in her honor.
In addition to McNeill’s keynote, ENRICH Week will feature Zoom presentations by Healthcare Educators Academy mentees on Monday and Tuesday. Thursday will also feature two Emerging Educator Workshops for participants as well as the annual Poster Session in the UAB Hospital West Pavilion Atrium 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
