Ambika P. Ashraf, M.D.UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) researchers have contributed to the Frontiers in Endocrinology Research Topic on Disease-Modifying Approaches in Type 1 Diabetes.
Frontiers in Endocrinology is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal that publishes research across 21 sections covering all aspects of endocrinology including novel therapies for prevalent health issues such as obesity and diabetes.
UCDC Associate Director Ambika P. Ashraf, M.D., co-edited the collection now available on the Frontiers website. Ashraf is the Ralph Frohsin Endowed Chair in Pediatric Endocrinology and director of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes in the UAB Department of Pediatrics.
Faculty in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, the UAB Department of Medicine Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and the UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center contributed four out of 14 articles currently featured in the research topic.
“It has been an honor to work on this project alongside such thoughtful and innovative contributors. I am thrilled that UAB is so well-represented,” Ashraf said.
