I learned from the CEM program that we manage processes, but we lead people. We also have a cycle that we go through; we explore, we experiment, and we evolve. The value of that exploration has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone to experiment with more responsibility. I could not have evolved more while at UAB and I owe it all to this program.

I loved being in the program at UAB. Although frustrating at times, I do not regret one bit the time and effort and expense I invested in myself. Every single day I use something that I learned from the program.

It has always been a dream of mine to own my own business. Because of this program and having the knowledge and resources from the courses, I feel ready to become an entrepreneur.

I have currently received three promotions since starting the program and hope to inspire other girls to pursue their dream in engineering.

The CEM program paid off dividends from the beginning to the end. After taking only a few classes it opened doors and got me interviews that would have never happened. It has been a good experience for me.

The knowledge, skills and abilities gained from the CEM degree program has been pragmatic in all aspects of my construction business. It also inspired me to expand plan to include program and project management services as part of my construction company portfolio. As a result, I entered an alliance with a larger firm, and we just landed a very large construction management contract. This would not be possible without my UAB experience.

Leaving the military and preparing to return to the civilian construction industry after almost eleven years, I knew that I would need to retool my construction knowledge to be competitive for employment. The CEM program offered the online flexibility that I needed, and it covered the current relevant course material. I now have new tools and resources to help face the challenges required in the construction industry.

I was recently hired by a very large general contracting company in Texas. They mentioned that the CEM program was an integral part of me being successful as a candidate. In addition, I will receive a pay increase after graduation next month.

Every class brought something positive to the table. Having hands-on access to the P6 Scheduling and Building Information Modeling software was just great. The program tested our perseverance and helped build professional character.

It has not been easy juggling a career, family, personal life, and graduate school, but the CEM program has been very helpful. The commitment from the faculty and staff makes it quite evident why the program is so highly ranked.

Thanks to this amazing program, I was just promoted to Civil Engineer I status by the county where I work. One of the best parts of the program are the friends that I have made from the very first group project. We communicate (network) multiple times per day, on weekends and even between terms.

The CEM classes are well structured, highly informative, and the instructors are of high caliper. The CEM program administration has been simply amazing because they are so helpful and very responsive.

I wanted to capture an advanced degree because I was recently passed over for a promotion and I wanted to be poised and ready the next time the position becomes available. The trouble was that I was smart enough and could do the work, but I was not formally trained and credentialed. After building houses for several years, I recently applied for a position as an assistant project manager in the commercial construction industry. Without the challenges that the CEM program has given me, I do not feel that I would be prepared for this role. I selected UAB over other universities because the CEM program is prestigious, very well-known, and has a more affordable cost. Also, looking at the numbers, the CEM program was ranked much better, and the courses lined up neck-to-neck.
