AEIVA is the contemporary art center on the campus of UAB, located across the street from the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. We present between eight and ten exhibitions a year accompanied by a wide range of programs, all of which are free and open to the public.

Parking

The lot behind AEIVA is zoned specifically for UAB students, but there are several metered and free streetside parking spots available on 10th and 11th Avenue. 
 
Visitors may also request a temporary, one-day parking pass at the AEIVA front desk.

Tours

AEIVA offers free tours of our exhibitions for AEIVA visitors, UAB classes, departments, student groups, and Birmingham community groups. Our tours are usually delivered by members of our Student Tour Guide program and can be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on the group’s preference. We often accommodate tours outside of our regular hours of operation as well.

Our exhibitions rotate every semester, so please check the Exhibitions tab to learn more about what’s currently on view. Tours can be customized to emphasize themes relevant to your group. We can also pull a selection from our permanent collection to support discussion around a particular subject.
