As graduates of the UAB School of Public Health, individuals become valued members of our public health alumni community of over 7,000 individuals from around the world. While all UAB alumni automatically become members of the larger UAB National Alumni Society, our Office of Alumni and Development creates public health-specific opportunities that invite our alumni to stay connected, informed, and involved with their School of Public Health family. To learn more about engaging with the SOPH through one or more areas listed below, reach out to us at SPHalumni@uab.edu.

Connection

  • In-person and virtual events are hosted throughout the year to allow alumni to connect with each other for personal or networking purposes.
  • Our annual alumni engagement survey is distributed to alumni each December/January to help inform future planning initiatives for events, opportunities, and resources.

Information

Involvement

  • The Alumni Advisory Board consists of 24 members in a staggered board structure. Individuals may apply annually in August to serve a three-year term.
  • Student-facing opportunities such as alumni panel discussions, mock interviews with alumni facilitators, career-focused seminars, and special topics presentations feature select alumni who wish to engage with future public health practitioners.
  • Alumni interested in potential giving opportunities can learn more on our Giving page! Gifts of any size (even a one-time donation of $10) can make a huge impact through scholarship funding and more.
