UAB alumni share success as TherapySouth and Godspeed collaborate on a unique business model.  Both Birmingham-area businesses benefit from the concept they are working together on.

Two healthcare legends with strong ties to the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions were inducted to the Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Saturday, August 25, 2014.

When Ron Kleinman, PT, was looking for a college to attend he wrote, that’s correct - he physically wrote, to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and asked for a list of the best Physical Therapy schools in the United States. The APTA wrote back and placed the University of Alabama at Birmingham at the top of the list and Kleinman was soon on his way south from Ohio.

The “UAB Excellence in Business Top 25” award winners have been announced and four of them graduated from the School of Health Professions. The UAB National Alumni Society partnered with the Birmingham Business Journal to present the awards.

The 2012 class was honored not only for their work in medicine and health, but also as players in some of the most vital issues of their time.

Jennifer Morgan has been named senior director of development at the UAB School of Health Professions.

Amy Landry, Ph.D., has been appointed as the new director for the Doctor of Science in Healthcare Leadership (DSc) program. Landry, an alumna of UAB’s M.S. in Health Administration program (MSHA Class 35) and its PhD in Administration-Health Services program (2006), brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role.

A multitiered partnership with PT Solutions Physical Therapy establishes the PT Solutions Scholarship, provides support to several key events, and creates professional development opportunities for students in the UAB Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
