The AWARE Disability Management Program is recognizing Veterans Day 2025 with two initiatives honoring our veterans and armed forces.
On November 10, AWARE’s Pop-Up Poppy Stop returns to share the origins of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance and hope, worn to honor service men and women who have fought and died for their country for more than a century. The UAB community are invited to stop by to get a free poppy pin they can wear to pay tribute to those who served.
The Pop-Up Poppy Stop will be set up from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Administration Building Lobby, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the 801 Building Lobby, and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Spain Rehab Center. A limited number of pins are available.
Throughout the month of in November, members of the UAB community are also invited to express their gratitude on UAB Human Resources’ Wall of Messages to Our Vets. Post a note of support, share a story or say thanks by visiting go.uab.edu/thankavet.
