Position Summary:
Dr. Borgogna’s lab is seeking a clinical psychological scientist to supervise and conduct meta-analysis research, including NIH proposals for meta-analysis studies. We study all areas of clinical psychological science, but have established research programs in trauma, addiction, and compulsivity. The laboratory and clinic facilities are located at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB).
Responsibilities:
The Fellow will be chiefly responsible for ensuring meta-analysis projects are conducted with the highest scientific and ethical rigor. Examples of duties include supervising data acquisition practices, overseeing data analysis, writing scientific manuscripts, leading extraction teams, and mentoring students. The Fellow will manage three graduate students and up to six undergraduates. The Fellow will teach one undergraduate course a semester in the UAB psychology department. The Fellow will also have the opportunity to pursue their own pilot projects and apply for extramural training or project funding.
The position is intended for one year, with additional years contingent on funding.
Minimum Requirements:
An advanced research or clinical degree is required for this position. Individuals may have a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related fields. Individuals with an MD, DO, ND, or other clinical degree may also apply if they have significant research experience. Candidates should have experience with meta-analysis with at least one of the major meta-analysis software packages (e.g., CMA, R).
Other Requirements:
Applicants should have experience mentoring research trainees. Possession of unique statistical and data-analytic techniques (e.g., machine learning, analysis of longitudinal data, linear mixed modeling) is helpful, but not required. The applicant should have strong leadership, scientific communication (written and oral), organizational, and team-building skills.

We are interested in mental illness interventions. We conduct original lab psychotherapy clinical trials and meta-analyses of psychotherapy, pharmaceutical, and alternative interventions from across the world.
