Our residency program hosts many social gatherings to celebrate our successes, build teamwork, and cultivate lifelong friendships.
Camp Dismukes: This annual retreat for all of the residents and their families is held at beautiful Oak Mountain State Park. The entire program is provided coverage to be able to enjoy food, fun, bouncey houses, and games.
Chili Cook-Off: Every winter our residents take a break from the cold and warm up with bowls of homemade chili and dessert. The event features a resident chili and dessert competition and is held at one of the local Birmingham breweries.
Crawfish Boil: An annual tradition where our residents come together and enjoy yard games, good company and, of course, tons and tons of crawfish. Our Louisiana resdients and faculty love to show off their spice tolerance and cooking skills.
Legacy Dinner: A very special evening for all rising third year residents to celebrate the legacy of the Tinsley Harrison Residency Program. Third year residents are all provided coverage to attend the annual Legacy Dinner where we celebrate our senior residents and hear inspiring leadership stories from some of the great physicians of UAB. Learn more about Tinsley Harrison's Legacy and the Legacy Dinner.
End of Year Banquet: This is our annual formal event to celebrate the year and especially our graduating seniors. The entire program is given coverage to attend this formal sit-down dinner accompanied by hilarious skits and awards honoring our residents and faculty.
