The DREAM Mid-Career Award for Excellence in Research recognizes outstanding research achievements by DOM faculty at the mid-career level (Associate Professor).
This award recognizes researchers who have gained national recognition for important research discoveries over their scientific careers. Qualified nominees must have a primary appointment in the DOM at the rank of Associate Professor with a sustained track record of outstanding research achievements at their career stage. The candidate should demonstrate research excellence both as an independent investigator and through collaborative and multidisciplinary research initiatives. Evidence of mentorship, sustained funding, and service to relevant research organizations is also required. Any UAB faculty member may nominate, applicants may self-nominate, and more than one person from a division is eligible to apply.

Mid-Career Award Submission
Submit the applicant's information to DOM Research via email at the link below. The application must include:
- A UAB-Formatted CV listing research accomplishments including, but not limited to, important contributions to scientific achievement, a track record of sustained research funding, which may include individual, group, programmatic, and multidisciplinary projects, service to national and/or international research organizations, substantial and meaningful mentoring of students, residents, fellows, junior faculty, and/or other trainees in research, direct experiences, research, and/or scholarship contributions to increasing the participation in research with wide-ranging perspectives and life experience
- A Brief Statement of the Nominee's Achievements
