The 1917 Research Committee is tasked with the efficient evaluation and approval of proposed research involving the 1917 Clinic patient population.
All research initiatives involving 1917 Clinic patients are expected to participate in the Committee’s review process. This platform offers practical feedback to investigators and their teams, helping ensure that research activities are well-coordinated with clinical operations and responsive to patient needs.
The Committee provides guidance on best practices for integrating research operations with patient care, minimizing participant burden, and ensuring that studies reflect community values. It aims to align research projects within the clinic in a way that reflects the priorities of our patients while providing an environment conducive to impactful science. It includes diverse representation from across the 1917 Clinic, including Investigators, CFAR, RISC, Clinical Staff, Pharmacy, and Patient Advocates.
If your study team is looking for additional research partners, please include your specific needs on the investigator Form as our Committee is well positioned to identify potential collaborators. The 1917 Research Committee approval does not replace study assessment or service requests of other 1917 partners.
