Program Manager II
Anrika Steen is a proud native of Birmingham, Alabama, and a graduate of Hueytown High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and earned two master’s degrees from Bellevue University—one in Executive Leadership and Coaching and another in Human Services.
Steen's career in higher education began in the private sector as a financial aid specialist, eventually leading her to UAB in a similar capacity. She later joined the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa as a student services coordinator in the Registrar’s Office. Returning to UAB, she served as an academic advisor in the School of Health Professions, where she specialized in advising students in the biomedical sciences program. Most recently, she held the role of program manager in UAB’s Department of Computer Science, where she oversaw three master’s programs—Data Science, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity—supporting and advising a student body of over 650 individuals.
Currently, she serves as the program manager for Live Health Smart Alabama, a role that aligns with her lifelong passion for community service and regional development. In this position, she is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of Birmingham and its surrounding communities through hands-on, service-oriented leadership.
