Portions of parking along 10th Street South between 2nd and 5th avenues south will be unavailable from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 21-24, as crews restripe the roadway. The project will convert the east side of the street from parallel parking to 60-degree head-in parking, increasing available spaces from fewer than 60 to more than 90.

The work will also create a better-defined bus corridor and improve overall traffic flow near Express Lot 4. Crews will block off the next day’s work zone the night before. UAB Facilities asks drivers to respect the blocked zones by not parking in those spaces.

Drivers who typically park along 10th Street should plan ahead and use alternate parking during the disruption. This temporary inconvenience will result in more efficient parking and improved transit access once the project is complete.
