Altec/Styslinger Genomic Medicine and Data Sciences Building was UAB’s seventh new or renovated facility opened in a span of five months, starting with Gorrie Hall this past June.

Spence Henderson and Andrew King, Geographic Information Systems project managers with UAB Facilities, help campus planners visualize existing and future conditions, assist in the siting of new buildings, and contribute to better maintenance efficiency. They have also helped faculty and staff map everything from lighting to lactation spaces.

Effective Friday, Oct. 17, a portion of 7th Avenue South between 19th and 20th streets south will be closed so crews can install exterior signage on the new Altec/Styslinger Genomic Medicine and Data Sciences Building, which was completed in the spring. Detour routes will be clearly marked for drivers to navigate around the site.
