The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) at UAB has a long history of pursuing interdisciplinary research projects. Our faculty, staff, and students are involved in a variety of research efforts, with support from industry and government agencies. We collaborate with other departments at UAB, other universities, and national laboratories. MME works with the UAB Machine Shop and the Design x Prototyping (DxP) Lab to help UAB researchers fabricate new research tools.
Additionally, our faculty are actively involved in other school-wide or University-wide research activities, including Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD).
