About the Program

Climate change impacts more than the environment—it also impacts human health. This certificate, offered by the Department of Environmental Health Sciences within the School of Public Health, is designed to equip students with skills relevant to understanding and addressing these health impacts. Participants will explore how climate and weather-related events affect both human and environmental health, and gain skills in preparedness, response, recovery, and adaptation to climate-related disasters.

This fully online certificate focuses on the effects of a changing climate on human health, including issues of equity and how different populations are affected. It also covers methods for preventing, lessening, or adapting to climate change, allowing students to specialize further.
