Three physics graduate students were awarded fellowships for the 2012-2013 academic year through the Alabama EPSCoR Graduate Research Scholars Program. The awarding of the fellowships was based on the merits of a research proposal submitted by each applicant. The physics fellowship awardees and the titles of their successful proposals are:

Jeremy Peppers, "Investigation of Co, Ni, and Fe doped II-VI Chalcogenides"
William Willoughby, "Investigating the Mg Impurity in Gallium Nitride"
