CAS Champions are student ambassadors who serve as leaders within the College. These ambassadors are selected to represent the various disciplines within CAS and support the College’s initiatives in connecting students to the university and to the community. Champions also participate in the College's recruitment efforts and messaging, including answering questions from prospective students and creating content for the College’s Instagram.
Meet the 2025-2026 CAS Champions team:

Elena Santini
BFA Musical Theatre
Hi, my name is Elena, and I am a sophomore who is super passionate about theatre, film, and literature—especially Shakespeare!
I wanted to become a CAS Champion because I love UAB and all it has to offer. Any chance I get to brag about my school, I will gladly take!
I am looking forward to talking with prospective students and letting people know how amazing CAS is! I’m also hoping to get more people interested in UAB’s incredible theatre program!

Karrington Jones
Mass Communications - Broadcasting and Spanish
Hi everyone! I’m Karrington Jones, a proud junior double majoring in Spanish and Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting.
I’m passionate about community service—whether it’s volunteering at Blazer Kitchen, mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters, or joining city clean-ups, I find joy in connecting with others and making a tangible impact. At UAB, the city truly becomes our classroom, and platforms like BlazerPulse make it easy to get involved.
I became a CAS Champion because I believe the College of Arts & Sciences is one of UAB’s hidden gems. While our university is known for its medical excellence, CAS offers a phenomenal range of creative, interdisciplinary programs that deserve the spotlight.
As a Champion, I’m excited to highlight these programs through social media, connect with future Blazers, and share why UAB has become my home. From language immersion to media storytelling, I’m here to celebrate the heart and diversity of CAS.
¡Bienvenidos a UAB!

Mason Bayles
Chemistry and Immunology
Hey everyone! My name is Mason and I'm a senior majoring in Chemistry, Math, and Immunology. I'm passionate about science education and outreach as well as organometallic chemistry. I've always loved how interdisciplinary chemistry is and the technical skills required for research. In my free time, I also enjoy collecting DVDs and watching movies.
My interest in becoming a CAS Champion stemmed from a love of collaboration and mentorship. I really enjoy being able to share my experiences and help other students find their path. The role also allows me to meet people in many different areas of CAS, exposing me to new ideas and ways of thinking that I otherwise might have missed out on! As a CAS Champion I'm looking forward to connecting new students with opportunities throughout CAS while representing chemistry and other areas of STEM as exciting and approachable fields.

Miguel Luna
History and Political Science
My name is Miguel Luna, and I'm a senior majoring in Political Science and History while also minoring in Spanish. I came to UAB in 2022 and have always found community in the College of Arts and Sciences. Alongside my academics, I'm also the Co-Director of Political Advocacy in the USGA and the Co-President of Esperanza at UAB.
I have always had a desire to learn more about the structure of the world around me and the historical conditions for why it is so. My passion centers around using my knowledge to better the conditions for people who are not fortunate enough to pursue their dreams.
I wanted to become a CAS Champion because I wanted to represent my degrees to showcase the importance of scientifically studying politics, so that we may contribute to better solutions to address the root causes of our problems. I'm looking forward to meeting with students and answering any questions they may have about our amazing academic programs! Go Blazers!

Ravyn Tracy
Applied Physics
Hello! My name is Ravyn Tracy and I am a junior who is passionate about learning and discovery, especially in science and problem-solving. I love finding ways to connect what I learn to real-world impact. I’m also passionate about building communities—whether that’s through my sorority, Sigma Kappa, or physics organizations like SPS.
I wanted to become a CAS Champion because I know how important it is for students to feel supported and connected on campus. Having been involved in multiple organizations, I wanted to take what I’ve learned and use it to help others succeed academically and personally.
As a Champion, I’m looking forward to mentoring other students, sharing opportunities for involvement, and helping them navigate both the academic and social sides of college life. I’m excited to be a resource and a friendly face students can come to for guidance.
