""Beth Hunter is a Credentialed Course Instructor. A life-long Blazer, she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her interests include southern history, southern diseases, the New Deal, and textile arts. Beth has served as an adjunct professor in the undergraduate program since 2012.

An accomplished sewist and quilter, her creations are featured in her blog alabamaquilts.net and have been displayed in Hitachi, Japan. She is an active member of Birmingham Quilters Guild.

Beth has served on the boards of several historical organizations, including the Alabama Historical Association and their Speakers’ Bureau. As an expert reviewer on the 2024 Alabama Course of Study: Social Studies, she assisted in revising the K-12 curriculum and standards. Her research in Unrivaled: Sewanee 1899 aided in the documentary’s Emmy nomination. She routinely edits and creates content with W.W. Norton & Co.’s Give Me Liberty! textbook series. She has also written for the Encyclopedia of Alabama and others.
