Gallery 501 is an exhibition space operated by and for the UAB Department of Art and Art History students, faculty and community. It is a space for innovation and exploration in art and art history. Gallery 501 exhibitions emphasize artwork and art history research created by undergraduate Art and Art History students, plus exhibitions from guest artists and scholars whose work complements the educational programs in our department.
A vibrant Visiting Artist and Scholar Series enhances our curriculum by bringing renowned artists, scholars, and designers to UAB for lectures, workshops, critiques, and exhibitions. Our newly renovated studios, state-of-the-art digital labs, small class sizes, and a wide variety of student exhibition and professional development programs provide students with rich and diverse experience in the visual arts.
