  • Promotional Items and Apparel

    All UAB units ordering promotional items (e.g. pens, tote bags, mugs, etc.) or apparel with UAB (state) funds are required to order from a University Purchasing-approved vendor and obtain approval from the Office of Marketing and Communications prior to completing an order. This is required regardless of whether or not UAB trademarks are displayed on the promo items or apparel.

    Step 1: Select an Approved Vendor

    All promo items and apparel purchased using UAB (state) funds must be sourced from a University Purchasing-approved vendor. These approved vendors are also CLC licensed to produce UAB trademarks. If non-UAB (non-state) funds are being used to purchase promo items and apparel that feature UAB trademarks, you may use any vendor that’s currently CLC licensed for UAB.

    Step 2: Obtain Cost Estimate + Art Proof

    Obtain a cost estimate and a vendor-provided art proof that adhere’s to UAB’s brand guidelines.

    Step 3: Submit a Marketing Approval Form

    Submit a Marketing Approval Form before proceeding with the vendor. You will be required to upload a PDF of the vendor-provided art proof, as well as details regarding cost, quantity, and purpose. Marketing approval is required regardless of whether or not UAB trademarks are displayed on the promo items or apparel.

    Step 4: Marketing Review and Approval

    All submissions are reviewed by the Office of Marketing and Communications to ensure:

    • Use of approved and licensed vendors
    • Appropriate use of UAB trademarks and brand
    • Compliance with legal guidelines

    Following the review, you will be notified if your request is approved or requires any changes.

    Step 5: Place Your Order

    Once marketing approval has been granted, you may proceed with the vendor to produce your order.

  • Tablecloths

    In order to ensure consistency for various units at recruiting and outreach events, order the standardized tablecloth that's color matched in UAB Green from Taylor. All new tablecloth orders should follow the format below and include the full university name.

  • Stationery & Business Cards

    To grow UAB's brand awareness and ensure consistency, UAB Printing Services produces all UAB stationery and business cards from approved templates designed by University Relations. Using an outside vendor to re-produce UAB stationery is unauthorized and could result in trademark infringements and/or declined payment from University Purchasing.

  • UAB License Plate

  • Podium Drape

    In order to ensure consistency for various units at events, order the standardized podium drape that's color matched in UAB Green from Taylor. One version allows school / college / unit name to be added in text and another version features the core university logo alone.

  • Name Badge

    Name badges are an important aspect of promoting identity. They are used to identify individuals connected with the university, particularly for business purposes such as recruitment or customer service activities. A standard name badge using the official full UAB logo is available for UAB departments.
