Legacy Pinning Ceremony at the Alumni House | 5:30 pm

Join the Alumni Society for a legacy pinning event

UAB vs. Rice in Bartow Arena | 7 pm

Cheer on UAB Women’s Volleyball as they take on Rice University. Tickets are $3 for family members and free for students

UAB Arts Block Party at Jemison Concert Hall | 8 pm

Get ready for an unforgettable night of music, community, and celebration as Endea Owens and The Cookout take the stage as part of UAB Center for the Arts’ Arts Block Party! Buy Tickets

Saturday, October 4th

Family Weekend Check-In at Blazer Village (Protective Stadium) | 8-10 am

For families who were not able to pick up their registration package on Friday, this is the other opportunity to collect your items for Family Weekend.

Sunrise Yoga in the Hill Student Center Amphitheater | 8 am

Free admission. RSVP required

Honors College Coffee and Confections at the Honors Building | 9 - 10 am

Join the Honors College for snacks and coffee and mix and mingle with our faculty and staff. RSVP required

Solar House Tour | 10 am - 2 pm

The UAB National Solar Tour showcases the Solar House and Sustainable Community's initiatives, encourages and inspires sustainable practices in others, and celebrates the work of local environmental stewards. There will be food, music, vendors, and more! FREE ADMISSION- RSVP required


Birmingham Excursions:


The City of Birmingham has many different attractions and events to ensure entertainment for the entire family. Several local attractions have created UAB Family Weekend rates. Choose your adventure with your registration! For UAB students to participate in a Birmingham excursion, they will need to purchase a ticket. You can purchase additional tickets during registration.

UAB Family Tailgate at Protective Stadium | 8 - 11 am

Enjoy a morning of tailgate games, food, and fun before going to watch the Blazers take on Army University. Meet with representatives from across campus, experience Blazer Walk, the official welcome of the Blazers to Protective Stadium before the game, and hang out in Blazer Village. The Fan Zone inside Blazer Village will have interactives including inflatable games, temporary tattoos, face painting, photo opportunities, and more.

UAB vs Army at Protective Stadium | 11 am

Come cheer on our Blazers as they take on the Army. Family member tickets are included with FW registration. UAB students sit in the UAB student section for free, however, if a student would like to sit with family, they will need to purchase an additional ticket for $10.

2024 Freshmen Theatre Showcase at Alys Stevens | 7:30 pm

An exciting evening of performances by our freshman and transfer Theatre and Musical Theatre majors! FREE ADMISSION- RSVP required

Sunday, October 5th

Sunday Family Brunch at the Commons | 11 am - 1 pm

Join us for a traditional Sunday brunch at our all you can eat dining facility. $20 for family members, but UAB students are free with meal swipe.

Sugar Skull at Jemison Concert Hall | 4 pm

Sugar Skull is a bilingual/bicultural musical production designed for young audiences and families. It uses traditional Mexican music and dance to tell the story of Vita Flores’s magical journey to understand the meaning of Día de Muertos, guided by a charismatic skeleton named Sugar Skull. Fun for the whole family!
