Post-Professional OTD Capstone Leads to Sensory Room for New Jersey Students
A capstone project by UAB post-professional OTD graduate Pierrette K. Yeo has become a new sensory room at Jaggard Elementary School in New Jersey, opening in September. After initial grant applications were unsuccessful, Yeo continued pursuing the project, ultimately working with the school community to bring the room to life.

Alumni Q&A: Tim Holley (MSOT '04)
Timothy Holley, DHSc, MSOT, OTR/L, BMS, CEAS, is the founding chair of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at The Chicago School. He earned his MSOT from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004 and has held leadership roles in occupational therapy education, rehabilitation management, and clinical consulting.

Haley Veloz and Jason Vice: From OT Students to OT Leaders
December 2025 marked the graduation of UAB’s third cohort of entry-level OTD students, as well as a milestone for two Department of Occupational Therapy faculty. Haley Veloz, (formerly Haley Curry), OTD, OTR/L, and Jason Vice, PhD, OTR/L, SCLV, both graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) MSOT program in December 2015. A decade later, they are preparing future occupational therapists in the classrooms where their own professional journeys began.
