About the Study
The iADAPT study is a 16-week study designed to determine which weight loss program features are most effective in people with a physical disability. Participants will follow one of two diets and may be given additional nutrition or exercise counseling. The study provides weekly coaching, body composition assessment, and lab work to assess diabetes and heart disease risk.
Eligibility:
- Aged 18–75
- Overweight/obese BMI
- Physical disability or mobility impairment
- Not currently on weight loss medications

Reimbursement
Participants will receive up to $150 in compensation for their time.
Participants
- Come in person to the WHARF on Lakeshore Campus at the beginning and end of the four-month period for testing
- Receive weekly group coaching on lifestyle changes (via Zoom)
- May receive additional exercise and diet support as needed
- Will receive detailed body composition and metabolic assessments
