Dr. Wright grew up in Charleston, SC, and graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Sociology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where she graduated as co-valedictorian. Dr. Wright completed her Primary Care residency at the UAB School of Optometry and later joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor.

Her professional interests include anterior segment disease and primary care optometry. Dr. Wright is passionate about mentoring students and fostering their academic and clinical success. She is committed to inspiring the next generation of optometrists to become compassionate and skilled clinicians. She currently sees patients in the Primary Care Clinic, Dry Eye Relief Clinic, and the Optometry Clinic at Cooper Green Mercy Health.

In her free time, Dr. Wright enjoys reading, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her black Labrador Retriever, Maggie.
