Dr. Logan was raised in Oxford, Alabama, and graduated cum laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from UAB School of Optometry and then completed a Primary Care residency at the Salem Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. She joined the faculty at UAB School of Optometry in 2019 and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Optometry and Vision Science.
Dr. Logan is course director of Assessment of Systemic Diseases in Optometry. This course highlights her passion for how systemic disease correlates with the visual system. She is additionally course director of the Advanced Posterior Segment Evaluation lab, co-course director of Systemic Pharmacology, and an instructor in the methods and procedures course. She has a growing interest in integrative health and sees patients in the Ocular Disease and Primary Care clinical services at UAB Eye Care and at the UAB 1917 Clinic.
Outside of teaching and seeing patients, Dr. Logan enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and two kids (who keep them very busy). She additionally enjoys learning to make different foods from scratch, going to the farmer’s market, and always looks forward to having her afternoon organic coffee with bone broth.
