University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) student Lauren Wehunt, RN, has received a 2017 Graduate Nursing Award from the Alabama Health Action Coalition (AL-HAC).

AL-HAC awarded $500 scholarships to nine students statewide who are Alabama residents pursuing their graduate nursing degrees. Wehunt, from Centre, Alabama, is in the School’s Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track.

AL-HAC is a group of health care, business, political, and community leaders collaborating to explore health issues that affect the people of Alabama to establish a roadmap for positive change in the state. It promotes academic progression for nurses and works to minimize barriers to nursing education at every level.
