Kimberly Sanders Davey, PhD(c), MBA, MA, instructor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, has been awarded the best doctoral paper in the health care management, hospitality management and public administration track by the Southern Management Association (SMA).

Davey's paper, "The Role of Transformational Leadership on Voluntary Nursing Turnover", explores the role of transformational leadership on voluntary nursing turnover and the mediating effect of job characteristics.

Davey will accept her award at the SMA Annual meeting in Savannah, Ga., November 11-15, 2014.
