University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Nursing Honors Program Jessica Lee Corcoran, PhD, CRNP, CPNP‐PC (BSN 2014, MSN 2017, PhD 2020), has been recognized with the 2025 Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Lucy Bradley-Springer Excellence in HIV Prevention Award. The award was presented in November at the ANAC annual conference, which brings together leaders in HIV/AIDS nursing from across the world.

The award honors nurses who demonstrate exceptional commitment, leadership and innovative contributions to the prevention of HIV. Corcoran was selected for her work advancing evidence-based HIV prevention programs and her dedication to improving outcomes for individuals and communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this award,” Corcoran said. “My work in HIV prevention and community engagement is both a professional and personal passion. To be recognized by ANAC is a profound honor and affirmation of the importance of advancing effective, evidence-based approaches to HIV prevention and care. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this vital work and to collaborate with so many dedicated colleagues and community partners.”

Founded in 1987, ANAC supports nurses and health care professionals through education, research, advocacy and leadership development, all aimed at improving care and preventative efforts for people living with HIV.
